Urban Oasis

This small, urban landscape makes the most out of a wide, tree covered front and side yard. The landscape design emphasizes small-scale details along the paths and use areas, and radiates softly out into a more natural forest garden. The landscape offers a gentle reprieve from its developed surroundings, as well as a vibrant space for relaxing and entertaining. Features include:

A small covered balcony off of the main living room provides space for year-round barbecuing, while connecting the garden deck with the living quarters.

The lower deck was built into the landscape, taking advantage of the sunniest spot on the property. Ipe decking and steel framing were used on the rail and bench to provide a quick patina and complement the age of the house.
