Audrey Edna Hikers Hut
The Audrey Edna Hikers Hut, located in the Santa Cruz Mountains adjacent to San Mateo County’s San MacDonald Park, was built for the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) in 2017. Sited on top of a ridge with expansive redwood forest and coastal views, the Hikers Hut celebrates POST’s Heart of the Redwoods Fundraising Campaign, provides a gathering place and destination for donors and the public, and will offer low cost sleeping accommodations under the management of the Sierra Club. The Hikers Hut replaced an existing caretaker’s cabin that was in disrepair with a public destination that includes sleeping accommodations, a full kitchen, two bathrooms, and an interpretive landscape overlook and donors area.
